REINZ is established under the Real Estate Agents Act 1976 and governs real estate practitioners through its Rules and a Code of Ethics.

Structure


REINZ is directed by a National Council of elected members who set the direction, vision and strategic objectives. Five Regional Managers report to the Chief Executive who, in turn, is responsible to the National Council.

The national office of the Institute is in Parnell, Auckland. Regional offices are in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

The Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB) licenses approximately 1600 real estate offices, employing 3500 licensees and branch managers and supporting 16,000 sales people.
